The NJ PACT REAL Rules: A Solution to Flooding in New Jersey

July 16, 2025 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Unusual and extreme weather events are skyrocketing across New Jersey.

Storms like Hurricane Ida and Hurricane Sandy cost our state billions of dollars–as well as dozens of lives. The amount of extreme storms in New Jersey has doubled over the past 50 years. In addition to these storms, even under a moderate emissions scenario, New Jersey can expect  five feet in sea level rise by 2100. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has come out with a set of regulations – the NJPACT rules – that will ensure development in coastal communities is resilient and built to withstand the storms we know are coming–and are already here. Join us and ANJEC on Wednesday, July 16 at 6PM for a webinar to learn more about these regulations and what you can do to ensure that these lifesaving measures are passed in New Jersey.

Joining us will be Jen Coffey, the Executive Director of ANJEC (Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions); Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV; and Robin Suydam, insurance Company Board member and retired Insurance agent, to talk about the business and insurance impacts of flooding. These rules are facing enormous pushback and misinformation from opposition groups determined to build at any cost. We need informed, vocal supporters to make sure they are enacted as soon as possible to help save lives and protect property. Time is running out to ensure that these rules are passed.

Reserve your spot today to learn more about how you can help New Jersey build resilience for the future.
